Snickerdoodle Cookies

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 ½ cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • 2 ¾ cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp cream of tarter


  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Cream together butter and sugar and beat until fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time and beat well. Mix in vanilla.
  4. Sift together flour, baking soda, salt and cream of tartar and add slowly to butter and sugar mixture. Mix well.
  5. In a small shallow dish, combine cinnamon and sugar for topping.
  6. Form dough into 1” balls and roll each ball in topping mixture to coat.
  7. Place balls 2” apart on a lined or greased cookie sheet.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until just golden and tops have crackled. Cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
