There are 9,088 quota units from the Lower Mainland and 2,200 quota units from the Interior available for purchase in the June quota exchange. One exchange will be conducted for each region. Layer quota must first be offered to prospective buyers within the seller’s region. If the offer to sell is not fulfilled from within the seller’s region, the quota will be placed on the exchange in the region with the lowest offer to buy fill rate.
BC Egg will accept offers to buy for the June quota exchange from May 6 until 4:00 pm on June 2, 2026. The rules pertaining to the exchanges can be found in Part VI of the BCEMB Consolidated Order. The complete timeline for this exchange will be as follows:
Offers to buy are limited to one application per Person or Business Unit. As defined in the Consolidated Order, “Business Unit” means Registered Producers where the direct or indirect interest in which is exclusively held by the same Person or Persons, in the same proportion, for each such Registered Producer.
The market clearing price for the quota exchange on June 3, 2026 will be $365.00 per unit of Layer Quota. The conditions required for an increase to the market clearing price specified in Part VI of the Consolidated Order were met on the last exchange.
