We’ve collected some of our farmers’ favourite recipes to share with you this holiday season, because we all know that good company goes best with good food. We hope you and your family and friends will enjoy these family favourites.
The first recipe comes from Jeff Regier, an egg farmer in Abbotsford who’s featured in our most recent “Meet the Farmer” video! Jeff’s go-to recipe is an egg-wich with Havarti, guacamole and a kick from spicy mayo.
The Vanderkoois shared their family recipe for Bessa’s Pumpkin Muffins, and we think this #FarmerFavourite will become one of your favourites too! Loaded with chocolate chips, pumpkin and spices, it’s a good thing this recipe makes a big batch- they’ll disappear quickly!
‘Tis the season for baking and indulgences, and you can have both with Lovella’s Cinnamon Sugar Popovers. Lovella’s an egg farmer from Abbotsford and she works magic in the kitchen! We’re so glad she shared a bit of that Holiday Magic with this recipe.
Doing some holiday entertaining? Then you’ll want this #FarmerFavourite recipe from Daybreak Farms in Terrace! Their mini quiches are tasty and easy to prep – the perfect Christmas or New Year’s appetizer, or snack!
The holidays can get hectic! Jen and Darren, of Eggstream Organics, love this Breakfast Bake as a make-ahead-meal to help keep the Christmas chaos under control.
This decadent #FarmerFavourite comes from Juschka, an organic egg farmer in Yarrow. Her Caramel Apple German Pancake serves four (or one!), and pairs wonderfully with our home-made eggnog (there’s a link at the bottom of Juschka’s recipe!).
We’re wrapping up our #FarmerFavourite series with a classic: Avocado toast! Jen Woike, from Running W egg farm on the Island shares this family favourite. It’s an easy, delicious breakfast or brunch and perfect for a winter morning with the family. Enjoy!
