Ingredients
- 2 slices bread
- 1 Tbsp (15 ml) butter, salted and softened
- 3 Tbsp (45 ml) Cheddar cheese, grated
- 2 Tbsp (30 ml) Gouda cheese, grated
- 2 Tbsp (30 ml) Havarti cheese, grated
- 1 egg
Instructions
- Spread ½ Tbsp of butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- On the unbuttered side of one slice of bread, place 2 Tbsp of the Cheddar and all of the Gouda and Havarti cheese. Top with the second slice of bread, with the butter on the outside.
- Using a 2” round cutter, cut a hole in the middle of the sandwich.
- Heat a non stick pan over medium heat.
- Add the sandwich and the cut-out centre to the pan.
- In the hole, place ½ Tbsp grated cheddar to the pan.
- When the cheese in the centre starts to bubble, add the BC egg.
- Cover with a lid until bread is golden brown and ready to flip.
- Carefully flip the sandwich and the centre and cook until golden brown.
- Serve immediately. The egg yolk should still be runny.
