Breakfast Club of Canada and BC Egg Help Give Students at Chilliwack Middle School a Hot Breakfast

May 29, 2019

Egg farmer and BC Egg Board Member, Jon Krahn, teamed up with teachers at Chilliwack Middle School to help deliver a free, hot breakfast to hungry students.  The team served up breakfast sandwiches with fresh local eggs, donated by BC Egg to the Breakfast Club of Canada breakfast program, to close to 100 students.

BC Egg donates eggs to Breakfast Club of Canada (BCC) on a bi-weekly basis via delivery to the “hub” school, AD Rundle Middle School, in Chilliwack.  This hub system allows smaller schools or schools without adequate refrigeration facilities access to perishables like eggs, milk, yogurt and cheese for their breakfast programs. BC Egg recently teamed up with BCC to purchase a large industrial fridge to expand the storage available for the hub, making even more BC produce available to local schools.
