What is @CanadaTakeout? It’s a movement! With more than 800,000 food service jobs lost nationwide due to COVID-19 and nearly 10 per cent of Canadian restaurants closed permanently, Canada’s dairy, poultry and egg farmers have joined forces to support local restaurants across the country through the Canada Takeout campaign.

Restaurants are doing their part by staying open for takeout. Now it’s our turn to take an active part in the support of an industry that employs millions of people in this country. Order from your favourite restaurant that offers takeout or delivery on what is now known as #TakeoutDay !

Join the @CanadaTakeout movement here in BC every Wednesday throughout May! What’s your favourite local restaurant? Tag them and your friends to win! We will choose a winner each week and get them $25 to use at their named restaurant.

How to Enter

1. Find our weekly #TakeoutDay post on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter and like it.
2. Tag your favourite local restaurant AND tag a friend—every tag is an entry!
3. Follow us.

Prizes

Each week, one winner will WIN $25 to spend at their favourite take-out restaurant.

Rules

• Contest will run weekly throughout May, with entries opening on Wednesdays, and closing at 11:59 pm on the following Tuesday.
• In order to qualify, entrants must comply with the rules of the contest as noted above:
  • Follow BC Egg on one of our social media channels,
  • Tag a chosen restaurant and a friend, and
  • Like the required #TakeoutDay post for that week.
• Entering multiple times by tagging multiple restaurants and multiple friends is allowed – each tag is an entry.
• Entering the contest on multiple weeks is allowed, though you must enter on the new BC Egg #TakeoutDay post each week.
• Entering the contest on multiple social media channels (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram) is allowed.
• Winners will be chosen weekly, by random draw.
• Winners will be notified during the week following the draw.
• Winners must reply to their prize notification within 7 days or they will forfeit and another winner will be drawn.
• We will coordinate with the winner and their chosen restaurant to arrange for the $25 restaurant credit.
• Entrants’ and winners’ names and/or social media handles may be shared on BC Egg’s social media feeds and/or website.
• Contest open to BC residents only.
• Staff and board members of BC Egg, and their immediate families, are ineligible to participate in this contest.
