How many generations has your family been egg farming?

Two. My parents purchased an egg farm when I was 15.

Which family members work on your farm?

All four of us. I check the barns and my wife and kids collect the eggs after school.

How long have you been egg farming?

We have owned the farm for 10 years, but I have been working on egg farms for about 25 years now.

Do you raise any other livestock or crops on your farm?

No, but our neighbor uses some of our land to raise beef cows.

What is your favourite part about being an egg farmer?

Working with my family, the pride we have in looking after our hens and supplying safe, nutritious eggs to our community.

Why did you choose the production type you use?

We chose free range because we love seeing our hens roam free outside on nice days. They love to dust bathe and run around our field.

What would you like consumers to know about egg farmers/egg farming?

We care about our hens and enjoy interacting with them on a daily basis.

What does being an egg farmer mean to you?

Giving our hens the best care possible and providing safe, fresh, healthy food for our community.
