On The Farm

Registered egg farmers in BC are dedicated to producing fresh eggs of consistent high quality, nutrition, and safety.

In BC, about 136 registered farmers raise almost 3.1 million layer hens, which in turn produce over 84 million dozen eggs. About 81% of BC’s registered egg farmers are located in the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley, 13% in the Interior, and 6% on Vancouver Island. The average BC egg farm raises 17,000 hens. The egg industry contributes over $95 million to the provincial economy.

Our farms operate independently, without government subsidies, and with respect for resources and the products they produce. As a local business, BC egg farmers support our commitment and thus we are able to create a stronger, more viable economy for our current and future generations.
